Can you clean without using chemical cleaning products? That’s possible with ozone. Klüh Cleaning, a business division of the Düsseldorf-based Klüh Group, has successfully used this process with its clients. Ozone is added to the water, evaporating completely after cleaning without leaving any residue. The only things remaining are water and oxygen.

As an environmentally friendly alternative to chemicals, ozone effectively destroys bacteria, fungi and viruses rather than merely covering them up. Depending on the required level of preservation, it can be kept in water in a spray bottle for between four and 24 hours. Klüh primarily uses this process for cleaning offices and hotels. The ozonised water does not come into contact with sensitive objects such as telephones or computers; it only comes into contact with the cloth, and it has no corrosive effect. Ozone-enriched water can also be applied directly to table surfaces.

Engel & Zimmermann identified the residue-free cleaning method as a lighthouse project during the preparation of Klüh’s first sustainability report and edited it.
