Engagement for sustainability at Engel & Zimmermann
Since 2019, Engel & Zimmermann has significantly expanded its sustainability programme by systematically promoting the reduction of CO2 emissions, ensuring customer satisfaction and investing in the training of qualified young professionals.
Sustainability at E&Z
Since deciding to implement the ZNU standard for sustainable business practices in 2019, we at Engel & Zimmermann have consistently expanded our commitment to sustainability. By aligning ourselves with the ZNU standard, we are systematically embedding sustainability principles in our business processes and incorporating all areas of sustainability: environmental, economic and social.
We ensure that our business activities are climate-neutral, focusing not only on offsetting emissions but also on actively reducing them. Since 2019, we have continuously and significantly reduced our CO2 emissions, supported by the use of green electricity.
Environment
In the environmental field, our focus remains on reducing CO2 emissionsSince 2022, we have been taking into account all CO2 emissions from Scope 1 and 2 as well as business travel. We are currently working on reducing our emissions from 1.59 tonnes of CO2 per full-time equivalent to less than 1 tonne per full-time equivalent by 2030.
Economy
In the area of business, we strive for high customer satisfaction, which we operationalise through recurring surveys of our partners. Through regular exchange formats, we achieve a recommendation rate of over 80% and an overall rating that is consistently better than 2.5.
Social issues
We are also achieving our self-imposed goal in the social area by training at least three qualified junior staff members each year. In addition to flexible working time models, we also focus on financial participation in the company’s success. We are optimising our offices to create a more relaxed and pleasant working environment, including the creation of a lounge area. Joint activities such as the E&Z clean-up or swap days promote team spirit.
